"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?"
- Jesus (Luke 14:28)
On Sunday, February 10, 2019, Georgetown launched a capital funds campaign under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Hancock and the Vision 20/20 Leadership team. "Vision 20/20: Our Future is Now” is the title for our Capital Stewardship Program.
Vision 20/20: Our Future is Now campaign is more than a capital funds campaign. At the heart of Vision 20/20 is the desire to develop faithful stewards. We believe that stewardship development and spiritual growth will be the most important benefit of Vision 20/20.
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace" - 1 Peter 4:10
In order to undergird Vision 20/20 with spiritual strength, our church will be in prayer for 24 hours of unbroken intercession on April 6th and May 18th, meeting in the chapel. This will be a time of praise and thanksgiving to God for His blessing on us and supplication for His will to be known and done in the strategic days in the life of our church. Please do more than ask God what he would like you to do, ask God what He would like to do through you.
"Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit…”- Zechariah 4:6
"NOT EQUAL GIFTS, BUT EQUAL SACRIFICE" is the Vision 20/20 theme for sacrificial giving. Vision 20/20 recognizes that God has not given everyone the ability to give the same amount of money. He does, however, call us to make the same quality of commitment. A sacrifice will cost us something in the way we live. It is giving up something we love and cherish for something we love and cherish more.
"I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." - 2 Samuel 24:24
